The situation:
I was working on a visualization project of a set of houses where I had to deliver some exterior renderings of the set and its social area, I already had everything modeled with textures and lighting and the client a day before the delivery tells me that he had some changes in the urbanism of the set which led to delay the delivery since it was a very long job.
I wrote to my boss about the situation and he talked to the client and reached an agreement where he gave us two more days to deliver the project.
¿What was the result of the experience?
The experience I had was that I had to put the whole team to work longer hours to deliver the project on time.
¿How did your flexibility and adaptability help you to deal with the situation?
Communication: a meeting was organized with the client to discuss the change to the urban planning so that the entire team was aware of what needed to be done.
Learning: my experience in the field helped me to be able to talk to my colleagues to speed up the changes that needed to be made.
Prioritization: the whole team left their other functions so that together we could make the changes that the client told us to make.
Team collaboration: we all did our part and sacrificed time off to work hard and have everything ready for that day.
¿Would you change anything in order to deal in a better way with it?
I would not change anything since these were changes that had to be made to improve the project space.
In summary:
I believe that with the flexibility and adaptability of the entire team we were able to successfully address the client's new change and thus meet the delivery date. However, the experience also highlighted the importance of proactive planning for possible changes to future projects.
